We held an informal meeting while at Sturgis on Saturday, April 18th.

Because we had no quorum of Directors, no formal minutes were kept, and no motions made or passed.

All the same, the meeting was open to anyone interested in what was going on, well attended and quite productive.

John Swift mentioned that the club had earlier promised delivery of a membership roster. Dale Simpson addressed this by telling us that the roster was in the works. At this writing, the roster is in progress, but no delivery date. I would like to point out that everything we do is done by individuals volunteering work in their spare time, and often without thanks. Let us be patient.

Jim Johnson brought up the concept of having a live video chat room set up on our website for use in ’how to’ seminars. He described the set up as one enabling viewers to participate with questions or comments while a shop or repair seminar is taking place.

Since the meeting, this idea has been turned over to the team who currently work on our website. We have added new members to that team: Kurt Schrader, Jim Johnson, and Matthew Wilson.

Several at the meeting brought up adding a column in the VMCA News covering product reviews, so readers can have a better handle on what is new and available. Jim Johnson suggested we find independent reviewers who would offer their objective findings about an item, including price and where to buy it.

We need volunteers for these reviews. If you bought an item that is new on the market, have something to say about it, and you have the ability to write in a reasonably objective style, please contact the Editor. We will need a clear photo of the item, description, how it is  supposed to be used and where we could buy it. Also, please submit a short bio telling us something about who you are.

All this information should be submitted to the Editor by way of e-mail, or as a last resort by US Post.

We are late with the election of three Directors whose first terms expired last year. We voted at the meeting in October 2008 at Barber Motorsports Park to extend the terms for one year to give time to find Director candidates. Several stepped forward at the informal Sturgis meeting. Club members will be sent a letter separate from the VMCA News regarding this.
